In the meadow we will build a snowman

This was the only stage act I caught on camera.  Don't know their name - they harmonised quite
well, although the sound recording doesn't really do them justice. They looked like a bunch of six formers - there is a lot of talent in the local schools. However, in their rendition of  Winter Wonderland they forgot the snowman is only pretending to be Parson Brown.  Otherwise they did well.

Bury St Edmunds 2009

These 'elves' were entertaining just before Christmas in a Street Fayre a couple of years ago. I didn't see them last year, but who knows, they might appear this year. They were very funny and talented, and the chap on the left did another act on a previous day which was one of the funniest things I had seen for ages. Part of it was to mimic passers by without their knowledge and there must have been dozens of people in Bury who passed by, totally unaware of the fact they had provided some amusement that day.  None of it was unkind I do have to add.

At one point whilst entertaining the children, the performers held out a tin of  Quality Street for the children to take one.  They then teased the children for some minutes before presenting the open tin for them to take one. The tin actually contained brussel sprouts. The children were happy to take one - not a hint. of disappointment. It just goes to show that children don't measure achievement in the same way as adults often suppose.

My Man in St Ives

This little character on Fore Street, St Ives, equally delighted and horrified the fascinated young audience. A few of us older ones were highly entertained too, not least myself, who attracted some extra attention. It might be the best I get this year :-)

St Ives, Cornwall

This street 'statue' remained motionless until some money was placed in his collection box - and then he sprung into action, much to the joyful alarm of the watching children. Few entertainers would collect so much if it were not for the young audiences who love giving and receiving in this way. For this reason, this form of 'theatre' is one of my favourites. There are few more pleasurable sights than watching children's innocent enjoyment.
