This street 'statue' remained motionless until some money was placed in his collection box - and then he sprung into action, much to the joyful alarm of the watching children. Few entertainers would collect so much if it were not for the young audiences who love giving and receiving in this way. For this reason, this form of 'theatre' is one of my favourites. There are few more pleasurable sights than watching children's innocent enjoyment.
